Dilly Beans Workshop

Join the Bethlehem Food Co-Op for a special workshop at the Monocacy Farm Food Festival! Participants will learn the basics of food fermentation as a healthy, simple, and delicious way to preserve the harvest while preparing their own quart of dilly beans to take home. These ultra crisp veggie treats are the perfect topper for a Bloody Mary, addition to potato or pasta salad, or accompaniment to a holiday meal. A recipe for future use will also be provided.

Two sessions will be offered: 11:30am and 12:00pm. Please select your time and register in advance below so the instructor can prepare materials.

Instructor Joe Klinkhoff has been in a kitchen since he was old enough to stand on a stool and help cook. His grandmother left him with a healthy love of cooking and baking. He loves to share that knowledge with others. Joe has 30+ years in food service and has focused on baking (sourdough, breads etc.) and fermentation. He currently offers DIY classes on sauerkraut, kimchi, miso, probiotics drinks, sourdough breads, basic bread making, make your own pizzas and basic water bath canning (and jelly).

* The Monocacy Farm Food Festival suggests an at-the-gate donation of $5 per person or $10 per family for entrance to the festival grounds.
